Insert a screwdriver or disposal wrench into the mounting bracket on the lower mounting ring.

Turn clockwise until the disposal is locked into place. Always use tongs or needle nose pliers to remove an object. It screws onto the drain and then holds a mounting bracket for the garbage disposal. If a disposer needs to be removed simply tapping on the ear with a hammer will quite easily loosen the lower mounting ring.
